My Blog Experience by Cristobal Osorio:  Looking back at our recent classroom presentation, I am filled with a deep sense of satisfaction regarding how the entire process unfolded. It was a remarkably positive and enriching experience, far exceeding the typical expectations of a standard group project. All too often, academic assignments can devolve into rigid, transactional exercises where team members isolate themselves in focusing strictly on their individual tasks just to get across the finish line. This project, however, broke that mold entirely. From the very beginning, our dynamic felt like a genuine, synchronized collaboration. We didn't just divide the labor; we actively invested in each other’s success. Whenever someone encountered a roadblock, the rest of the team stepped in to help problem-solve, creating a highly cohesive and supportive environment. This collective effort not only elevated the quality of our final presentation but also allowed us to build authentic con...

When I first found out that we were going to have a large group presentation in this class, I honestly was not very excited about hearing it. Group projects have never really been something I enjoy because in the past they usually came with problems like poor communication, uneven participation, and last-minute stress. Most of the time, it felt like one or two people would end up carrying the group while everyone else did the bare minimum. Because of those past experiences, I expected this project to turn out the same way. However, as the assignment continued and I watched not only my own group but also the other groups in class work together and present, my perspective on group communication started to change more than I expected. At the beginning of the assignment, my group spent time organizing responsibilities, discussing the chapter, and figuring out how we were going to present everything together. Like most groups, it was a little awkward at first because everyone was still tryi...

I have to say that I really enjoyed the presentations in my communications class. I was not expecting to have such a time. Usually I get really anxious when I have to give a speech or presentation. I get nervous and a bit scared when I have to talk in front of people I do not know well. So standing up in front of a room of unfamiliar faces is always a little scary for me. Because of this I usually try to get my part over with quickly as possible sit back down and hope for the best. I was okay with doing the project work but the thought of talking in front of a class of people I was not close with made me nervous. However working with my group and seeing everyone present changed my mind. It was a rewarding experience that taught me a lot about working together being responsible and how people connect with each other. My group was in charge of presenting Chapter 9 which was about Communicating in Groups. As we prepared I realized that a real group is not a bunch of people thrown together...

My Experience in Group 2 Celeste Castillo At first, I was honestly dreading working in groups. My mind immediately went back to the typical group projects I experienced in middle and high school, where one person usually ended up doing most of the work while everyone else just went along with it. I expected the same kind of situation this time, and I was already preparing myself for the stress that usually comes with group assignments. However, once we split into our first breakout room, I quickly realized that this experience might be different. There was an awkward silence at first because no one really knew how to begin, so I decided to break the ice and get the conversation started. Without officially planning it, I naturally stepped into the role of the “group lead.” One of the first things I did was organize a group chat on WhatsApp so everyone could communicate more easily outside of class. I also volunteered to create the PowerPoint presentation so we would have one organized p...

After watching all the presentations, I enjoyed them more than I expected. Each group expressed its creativity in its own way and explained its topics differently. I liked that the presentations were not only informative but also connected to real-life situations that many people experience every day. The topics about intercultural communication, communicating in groups, and leadership all showed how important communication is in different parts of life. My group presented Chapter 9, which focused on group communication. I enjoyed working on this project because it showed how important communication is when people work together toward a common goal. Our chapter discussed the nature and types of groups, healthy groups, stages of group development, and conflict in groups. My role in the presentation was to explain the nature and types of groups, families, and social groups. At first, I was nervous because presenting in front of the class can feel stressful, but once I started speaki...

When getting to work on our group communications project, writing and presenting the work gave me a much more different perspective of teamwork and communication among people than I had before. I've never been a big fan of group assignments, hearing about a group assignment makes me want to divide the work and going through the process on my own and hope for the best. Despite my original worries, this project ended up becoming more than that because of how it helped me understand how people in groups actually work together and why good communication is the most important part of learning to work with others around you. throughout this entire assignment I really learned about interests groups and how they bring people of all kinds anywhere in the world together over similar interest like books or games, service groups and how amazing it is that people come together for a great cause and do charity together, and support groups that bring people together to provide encouragement and ...

May 26, 2026 My Blog Experience by Elessar Marin Participating in our recent class presentations turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences I have had in this course. At first, I expected it to feel like a regular school assignment where each person simply completes their own section and combines everything together at the end. However, the experience was much more collaborative than I imagined. Everyone communicated openly, supported one another, and worked together to overcome challenges throughout the process. Because of this, the project not only helped me learn more about communication, but it also helped me build stronger connections with my classmates and better understand the importance of teamwork. One presentation that stood out to me the most was group one’s discussion on “Intercultural Communication.” Their presentation explored how culture affects the way people interact, communicate, and understand one another. They explained that culture is not limited ...

Blog Post #1 Glenda Leon Learning Through Communication, Teamwork, and Personal Growth My Experience During the Group Presentations in Introduction to Communication Chapters 3, 9, and 10 – May 15, 2026 On May 15, 2026, I participated in a very meaningful academic activity in my Introduction to Communication class. The professor organized a series of group presentations based on three important course topics: Chapter 3: Intercultural Communication , Chapter 9: Communicating in Groups , and Chapter 10: Group Leadership and Problem Solving . Although the assignment seemed challenging at the beginning, especially because English is not my first language, the experience ultimately became one of the most enriching activities I have had during this course. The professor divided the class into three groups using alphabetical order and the attendance list. Each group included at least six students, which allowed everyone to participate actively in the preparation and presentation proc...

Blog #1 Ayme Salcedo May 19, 2026 My Experience with Group Communication by Ayme Salcedo. Working on our group presentation was honestly a really interesting experience for me. At first, I thought it was just going to be another regular class project where everyone does their own part and then presents it. However, after working with my group and learning more about communication in groups, I realized that group work can actually teach a lot about teamwork, leadership, responsibility, and communication skills. Our group’s topic focused on healthy groups, cohesiveness, productive norms, accountability, synergy, and the different stages of group development. While preparing for the presentation, I learned that healthy groups are not just random people working together. Healthy groups depend on communication, trust, respect, and cooperation. One of the most important concepts we explained was cohesiveness. Cohesiveness means that members feel connected and work together towa...

My Blog Experience by Cristobal Osorio:  Reflecting on our recent class presentation, I can genuinely say it was a remarkably positive and enriching experience. Rather than feeling like a rigid academic exercise where everyone just focused on their own individual tasks, the project felt like a true collaboration. We worked cohesively as a team, actively helping one another overcome challenges, which naturally allowed us to build stronger connections and get to know each other much better on a personal level.  One of the highlights of the session for me was watching the presentation delivered by group one. Their topic was "Intercultural Communication",  and I found their take on the subject absolutely fascinating. They began by breaking down the core definition of culture, describing it as the fundamental architectural framework of human society. In their view, culture isn't just a passive backdrop, where it acts as a powerful unifying force shaped by a collective matrix o...
